Client Consultation

Welcome to the SisterLock Journey, your happiness is our first priority.

Sisterlocks are permanent and should not be considered if you are looking for a quick fix or a temporary reprieve from chemical processing.

At the Sisterlocks consultation, you can expect to spend approximately one hour. The consultation is designed to discuss the Sisterlocks hair locking process. You will be asked questions regarding your lifestyle as it relates to your past and current hair care practices. This includes past hair styling habits, shampooing habits, daily activities; such as, exercise, outdoor pleasures, etc.  We will also discuss how the Sisterlocks process differs from other hair locking techniques. Please know your unique natural hair texture as well as the use of certain types of hair care products affects the feel and appearance of  the Sisterlocks.

At the consultation,  the consultant will apply a cluster of locks in groups of around 8 to 12. in your hair. The purpose of the samples is to determine your natural hair texture, any changes in texture and density, and to choose which locking pattern is best suited for your particular hair type. If the choice to not install Sisterlocks, the cluster can be removed with conditioner. You should have at least 3” to 4” of hair length.  Less than 3” will make the sample locks difficult to analyze.  It is strongly recommended that your hair is clean, free of any oils or conditioners and without braids or extensions. If you are transitioning from chemically processed hair to natural hair, at least 1-1/2” to 2” of new growth is necessary.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO CUT OFF YOUR RELAXED HAIR.  If you have recently relaxed your hair or are between braiding appointments, you will need to reschedule the consultation. If you have extreme dandruff, eczema or psoriasis condition or an unhealthy scalp, which requires treatment, please reschedule until the condition has improved. 

In order for Sisterlocks to be uniform in appearance and remain strong and healthy, we must form a partnership. This partnership means agreeing to be consistent with re-tightening appointments, following post-appointment instructions, and using recommended products exclusively.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

1. It is important to maintain regular maintenance every 4 - 6 weeks depending on your hair texture. Retightening typically ranges between 2 to 3 hours 

From 3.5 hours and up see Price list.

 Apple Pay Zelle, Cash, or Cash-Apps ONLY PLEASE. 

2. Please come to your re-tightening appointments with your Hair Clean.  Please shampoo the day of, but no longer that the day before your appointment. For health reasons, please have your hair clean.  If you cannot shampoo before your appointment, there will be a $15.00 fee for hair washing.

3. IF YOU ARE SICK AT ANY STAGE, PLEASE RE-SCHEDULE.  IF YOU COME IN EXHIBITING SIGNS OF ILLNESS, I WILL BE FORCED TO RESCHEDULE YOU AT THAT TIME.

4. Your next appointment should always be schedule before you leave to ensure that you will an appointment on the books.

5. Your re-tightening appointment is an excellent time to purchase  some of SHEMICHELLOCKS products to maintain your hair.

2. How your unique natural hair texture affects the appearance of Sisterlocks.  

3. The use of certain types of hair care preparation affects the feel and appearance of Sisterlocks.
